Preston School was built on the west side of 11-47-14-W2 in the R.M. of Connaught at a cost of $1000.00. Classes began in 1911, with Francis M. Menzies as the first teacher. The teacherage was built in 1937- 38. The school was used for a wide variety of community activities, as were most rural schools.
In June 1959 the school was closed due to a small enrolment. Mrs. Margaret Brooke was the last teacher at Preston School. The students were bussed to Ridgedale or to Tisdale. The school building was sold to Mr. Ned Pearse of the Silver Stream district.
