The first school district meeting was held March 25, 1938. The first trustees were John Leister, Pete Musselman and Earl Boyle. Alder Ridge School was located on the N. W. corner of N E 36-45-12. The school opened August 19, 1940. In the late 1950s the original school was put on skids and moved away. The school in the photograph was moved in from Evington when that school closed in 1957.

In 1961 the Alder Ridge school was closed and the children then attended the Crooked River School. The school building was sold to Joe Barlow and moved to his farm.

The last school district meeting was held in February of 1962. Earl Boyle was secretary-treasurer from the beginning till the school was closed.
