The first School District meeting was held April 18, 1917. The district was named after General Sir D. Henderson of the Royal Flying Corps.

Henderson School was located on the SE3-48-16-W2. The school was built in 1918 by Ole Johnson, Ross Fuller, and Oscar Peterson at a cost of $1600. In the fist year the enrolment was twenty three. Miss Hilda Robinson was the first teacher. In 1934 the school had its largest enrolment at forty nine.

In 1960, when the school was closed, twenty two students were bussed to Ridgedale. The last teacher was Mrs. Inez Svare. The building was sold to Vic Queen.
